Just a Weekend in Barcelona

Some friends came to Barcelona and We were sending a lot of mails with information like how to arrive to the city, which places we could visit, etc. Now, I have thought that all this information could be useful for another people who are going to visit the city where I live.

How to arrive from the airport to center of Barcelona

The best way is by train. In the hall of the airport there are an Tourist information point, here you can ask about how to arrive to the train’station because it’s just in front the airport, more o less 5 minutes walking . Another way is take the bus number 46 (it finishes at Spain’Square) o Aerobus, but the train is cheapest and faster.
Please, don’t buy a single ticket, buy a T-10 (see the picture) . With this travelcard you can take the train and you’ll have 9 journeys more (to take the metro, a bus, etc.) The price T-10 it’s around 7-8€. For more information: http://www.tmb.cat/en_US/barcelona/moute/targetes/t_10.jsp Ahh!! Another useful information is that with the trip you can travel during 1’15 hour, so when you leave the train you can take the metro (or a bus) with the same ticket.
If you have the hotel at the center, the best stop is Passeig de Gracia (just the next stop Sants Station). A lot of people stop at Sants, but the best station is the other.

Now, I’m going to write the tour I did to my friends. They were in Barcelona just for a weekend (only 2 days):

First day:
- We took the metro and We stopped in Diagonal (line 3 or 5). We took Passeig de Gracia street and We arribed went to Ramblas walking and enjoying of the modernist builings (The Pedrera, Casa dels Ossos, Lleó Morera, etc. )

- When We arrived at the Ramblas We visited the Boqueria Market, it is a good place to drink a milksake. This part of the city is the heart of the city and around this area is where there are some of the most emblematic places of the city (the Cathedral, Santa María del Mar Church, Sant Jaume Square with the Generalitat , the Rabal, the Born (a good place to eat something), the Port Olimpic, etc. And very important: be careful with your belongings ... just this part of Barcelona full of thiefes ... Barcelona it’s a sure city but act with action it’s important!!

At night Gracia (Fontana metro station) it’s a good place for to have lunch or take a drink. It’s not a tourist place but this neighborhood is full of young people, bar and cheap restaurants. I like two restaurants of this zone:
1) Equinox (liban’s food) Verdi street (just in fornt Verdi cinema)
2) SMS Delicias (33 asturias street) Delicious and cheap food http://sms-delicies.blogspot.com/

Second day:

We live near Park Guell (Metro Vallcarca ) and the second day we visited at the morning this Park created by Gaudi. At the evening we visited Montjuich’s Zone (Castle and Palau Sant Jordi) but if your are coming in summer, going to the beach is another good option. If you have some question, please send me an e-mail, I’m studying English and I will be happy to practice a litlle.
